What you need to drive away
Three documents. Five-minute hand-over. No paperwork ambush at the desk.
Driving licence
A full licence held for at least 1 year. EU, UK, USA, Canada, Australia and most Asian licences are accepted directly.
Other licences need an International Driving Permit alongside the original.
Passport or national ID
A valid passport for non-EU guests, or a national ID for EU residents. We record the number for the rental contract only.
Photocopies and digital scans are not accepted by Slovak law.
Credit or debit card
A €100 deposit is held on a Visa or Mastercard at pick-up. A €100 cash deposit works too if you prefer.
The hold is released the same day the car is returned undamaged.

Three things every visiting driver should know between November and April.
Snow chains on request
Snow chains free of charge when conditions need them, just say at pickup or give us a call and we will drop a set off. Required by law on a handful of mountain roads after heavy snow.
Mountain passes close fast
Roads up to Štrbské Pleso and over Čertovica can shut within an hour of a heavy snowfall. Check the live road map before you set off, especially after dark.

The number on your key tag is answered 24/7 in English. Replacement car, tow, or a tip on the best café to wait in, whatever you need.
Slovak law requires winter tyres on snow or ice. Every EasyCar car has them fitted from 15 November to 31 March.
What to expect when you pick the car up
Paying and signing the contract
Payment cards
We take Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard and Maestro. You can also pay with your phone through Apple Pay or Google Pay, or any other wallet holding a card.
The GP tom terminal only reads contactless. A card that has to go into a reader will not work here. Companies get an invoice and pay by bank transfer.
Cash and the deposit
Pay the rental by card or in cash, whichever suits you. The €100 deposit is cash only, and you get it back when you return the car in the condition you took it.
Currency
Everything is paid in euro, and the deposit comes back in euro too. We do not take other currencies and we do not convert cash.
Signing by SMS
You sign the contract on your own phone. We text you a one time code, and our gateway reaches 38 European countries.

What you confirm by signing
Before signing you tick three boxes: that you have read the contract and the General Terms and Conditions, that you agree to sign electronically, and that you understand the payment terms, the currency and the code verification. By signing you confirm that you know what is written on this page and agree with it. The tick goes into the audit record on page 3 of the contract, with the time and IP address, and we e-mail you that contract.

What documents do I need to rent a car in Slovakia?
A passport or national ID and a full driving licence held for at least 1 year. Licences from the EU, UK, USA, Canada, Australia and most of Asia are accepted directly. Other licences need an International Driving Permit alongside the original.
Can I pick the car up at Poprad-Tatry airport?
Yes, free of charge. We meet you at the Poprad-Tatry Airport terminal with the keys and a 5-minute walk-around. Send us your flight number after booking and we will track the arrival.
Is the motorway vignette already paid?
Yes. The Slovak motorway e-vignette is included in the rate. Drive the D1 to Bratislava or the D3 to the Polish border without buying anything extra.
Are winter tyres fitted in the colder months?
Every car runs proper M+S winter tyres from November to March, as Slovak law requires. We can lend you snow chains free of charge on request when conditions need them.
Can I drive into Poland, Hungary, Austria or Czechia?
Yes. All EU countries are covered with prior notice, and late landings at Poprad-Tatry Airport are fine too. Tell us at booking which borders you plan to cross and we sort the cross-border paperwork at no extra fee.
How does the deposit work?
A €100 refundable deposit is held on your card at pick-up and released the same day you return the car undamaged. We accept Visa and Mastercard.
What insurance is included?
Full insurance (CDW) and third-party liability are both in the price. Excess on a major claim is capped at €1,000, lower than most international brands.
Is there a mileage limit?
300 km per day, which comfortably covers the Tatras, Spiš and a day trip to Krakow. Over the limit it is €0.10 per kilometre. Long-stay guests can pre-buy unlimited kilometres.
Can a second driver be added?
Yes, at no extra fee. Bring their licence and ID at hand-over and we add them to the contract on the spot.
Do you provide child seats?
Infant, toddler and booster seats are all free of charge. Mention the child weight or age at booking and the right seat is fitted before you arrive.
What happens if I have a breakdown or accident?
Call the number on the key tag, answered 24/7 in English. We arrange roadside assistance and, when needed, a replacement car from Poprad.
Can I cancel for free?
Yes, free cancellation up to 48 hours before pick-up. After that we keep a small admin fee; full no-shows are charged in full.
